| Thank Hostess & say how
great tonight is going to be because of these wonderful
books. Introduce self briefly & say why you started
w/ UBAH and a bit about importance of books in the home,
and maybe something like, "Here are books
that make learning exciting & achievable for the
children (& adults). This is important for helping
their self-esteem as they become lifelong learners. As
you see a sampling of the 1100+ titles tonight, you'll
see why Usborne Books are so successful making reading
& learning FUN!" |

| Show
about 8 or so of your favorite books. Tell things you like
about them & let others tell things they like. Help
the guests feel comfortable with the catalog so they'll
order from the 1100+ titles rather than just your
samples. |

loves a good deal! Usborne Books are a great deal, as
well as being high quality - good binding, printed with
bright ink on acid-free paper with good bindings.

If
they like a good deal, bet they'll like FREE BOOKS. Show
Booking Special & say that you'll help pick a good
date afterwards.

Smile & show the New Consultant Kit Special as an
option if they can't quite swing the Base Kit. Say you
need help & have information after the show. |
| ORDERS |
Say
you'll help them write up their orders and AFTER they
have their order in, they can move on to the snacks.
Help write up their orders, suggesting sets, customer
specials, and gifts to have on hand.
Have your calendar OPEN to that month & schedule
dates for shows. Let them know if they pick a date in
the next 3 weeks, they get an extra $5 in free books at
their show.
* Idea - mark in yellow the dates in your
calendar you want to book, then offer $10 more free
books (from the Hostess Books) if they pick a yellow
date for their show. (That protects your family
days & helps them commit to a date.)
Have consultant packets available and invite them to
join you as a consultant. |
| CLOSING |
| Add
up retail sales amount for hostess & agree on a goal
for outside orders from those that couldn't make it to
the show. Set a date to close show (maybe after the
weekend). Offer to help her get started in this business
by counting this as her first show giving her a
jump-start on her One Step at a Time awards. And she
could have the bookings from this show, too. It is to
your benefit to help her get a good start. That is one
of the many nice things about this business...You do
well by helping others do well. |
